Mr Vinod Kurian Jacob, Deputy High Commissioner of the High Commission of India to Sri Lanka made his courtesy farewell call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu at the Army Headquarters this morning (14), prior to his departure from the country after completion of his tenure.
During the cordial meeting, the outgoing Deputy High Commissioner expressed his gratitude for the cooperation and goodwill extended during his tenure in Sri Lanka and thanked the Army for its sound understanding and brotherhood.
They also recalled longstanding relations between India and Sri Lanka and underlined the importance of further cementing such ties. The meeting culminated with the presenting of mementoes by the Army Chief.
Director General General Staff, Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Military Secretary, Major General S.W.M Fernando WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc and Assistant Defence Adviser to High Commission of India, Lieutenant Colonel Puneet Sushil were also associated with the courtesy meeting.
