Major General M.K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, the recently-appointed Commander, Security Forces-Mullaittivu with the objective of familiarizing with his troops in the area paid his maiden visit to the 68 Infantry Division in Puthukkudiyiruppu on Thursday (28 June).
After he was saluted in a Guard Turnout at the entrance, he was warmly welcomed by the General Officer Commanding, 68 Infantry Division, Major General S Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc.
Afterwards, he was invited to pose for a few group photographs before he was briefed by the GOC of the 68 Infantry Division about the area, role and tasks being performed by the Division. Later, he visited the camp compound and interacted with the troops during an All-Rank tea.
Prior to his departure, he penned a few complimentary remarks in the visitors' book. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the day’s programme.
