The defence wing of the High Commission of India organized a three-day long 'Yoga' workshop from 12 to 14 June for tri-service personnel at island wide to coincide with the International Yoga Day.
Nearly 750 Army personnel covering five areas including Colombo, Kandy, Hambantota, Trincomalee and Jaffna joined the workshop. The programme was conducted by the instructors at the Indian Cultural Centre and the Swami Vivekananda Yogasramaya.
Brigadier P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc, the Director Sports closely supervised the project.
The programme ended by awarding certificates to the participants and the Head of Indian Cultural Centre Professor Ankuran Datta who participated in the main event at Galle Face Greens.
