Major General K.P.S.A Fernando RWP RSP ndu, the newly-appointed Director General Infantry assumed office on Friday (09 June) during a brief religious ceremony at the Army Headquarters.
The incoming new Director General Infantry placed his official signature in an official document amid chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ by the Maha Sangha signifying the acceptance of the new appointment soon after the symbolic oil lamp was lit by him, together with Senior Officers present at the occasion.
Major General K.P.S.A Fernando RWP RSP ndu, prior to his new appointment served as the General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division in Jaffna.
Senior Officers, Officers and Staff Officers of the Directorate of Infantry were present at the occasion.
