Sportsmen & Women in 55 Division Area Educated on Use of Drugs

In order to educate and share knowledge on the impact of narcotics, young sportsmen and women residing in the 55 Infantry Division area of the Security Force HQ - Jaffna on Sunday (11) listened to a lecture on ‘prevention from drugs’ at the 55 Infantry Division HQ.

The educative lecture sessions, guided by Major General M.K.U.P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division were organized under the supervision of Brigadier G.S.K Perera RSP, Commander, 553 Infantry Brigade.

The awareness programme was conducted by Mr. Abdul Raheem, a distinguished counsellor serving as the Senior Programme Officer at the Alcohol and Drug Information Centre (ADIC) in Colombo. More than 160 individuals from 14 sports clubs in the area attended the session.

The General Office Commanding of 55 Infantry Division, the Brigade Commander of the 553 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks also participated in the programme.
