Army Players Clinch Elle Championship in DSG in a Row

Elle teams of the tri forces who vied in the Defence Services Games (DSG) Elle Tournament - 2023, organized by the Sri Lanka Army Elle Committee at Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium during 02-03 March 2023 were beaten by the Army Elle team to clinch the DSG championship for the third time in a row.

Defeating Navy Elle players after a tough tussel in the finals, Army players scored 12 and 02 runs in both innings, whereas Navy players scored only 07 and 05 runs.

Meanwhile, before the second innings, a spectacle of 'Angampora' martial art, presented by Army personnel added glamour and entertainment to the participants to the event.

Major General Deepal Pussella, Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Elle Committee and Commander, Security Forces - West, witnessed the final match and joined the awarding ceremony as the chief guest.

Further, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks as well as Elle fans of the Tri Forces also watched the tournament.

Army players won in the Elle Tournament are as follows;

Best Batman: Corporal W.A.D Awishka - 8 SLASC

Best Fielder: Lance Corporal K.S.R Perera - 1 SLAC

Best Player: Private K.A.L Madushanka - 7 SLASC
