Brigadier Anil Peiris of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps assumed office as the Director, Directorate of Sports at the Panagoda Army Cantonment during a brief ceremony, held at the new office on Wednesday (15 March).
The newly-appointed Director of Sports symbolically left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office after observance of religious blessings.
Before his new appointment, Brigadier Anil Peiris served as the Deputy Commandant at the Defence Service Command and Staff College (DSCSC) at Sapugaskanda. He succeeds Brigadier Nalin Bandaranayake, who has now taken over as Commandant, Army Training School M’Oya (ATS).
Staff Officers and Other Ranks in the Directorate attended the inauguration of the new office.
