The newly-constructed Water Purification Plant (Reverse Osmosis plant) at 'Abimansala 3' at Pangolla wellness resort for permanently-wounded War Heroes was inaugurated by Brigadier Shiron Ekanayaka, Director, Directorate of Rehabilitation on Thursday (23 March).
The project bore fruition, thanks to the sponsorship, provided by one Ms Oma Upamalika Wijegunarathne at the request of Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU). The project cost Rs 500,000 to the donor who was also present during the inauguration.
To coincide with the inauguration of the project, two artificial legs were also given to one civilian working in the 'Abhimansala 3' and the widow of a War Hero around the same time. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks serving the wellnes resort were also associated with the inaugural programme.
