Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, the 3rd Commander of 1 Corps relinquished his duties during a formal military ceremony, held at the 1 Corps Headquarters in Kilinochchi on 05 June 2023.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the outgoing Commander was greeted with a Guard Turnout at the entrance before he was saluted in a Guard of Honour, presented by Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops. After hand-over of documents, pertaining to his relinquishment, he sat for a group photograph with the General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and Staff Officers of the 1 Corps.
Subsequently, he addressed the 1 Corps troops at the 'Nelumpiyasa' Convention Hall and thanked all for the support, extended during his tenure and urged them to continue their commitment in the same spirits and manner for the benefit and the reputation of the organization.
He finally attended an All Rank tea with all General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks at the Corporals’ Club, Headquarters 1 Corps.
