SFHQ-C Opens its 'Vesak' Zone & Free Eatery

The Security Force HQ Central (SFHQ-C) with the support of its under command troops added glamour and colourfulness to the commemoration of 'Vesak' having illuminated the location with a variety of lanterns, pandols and multi-coloured decorations.

Major General W. R.M.M Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu, Commander, SF-C on the full moon Poya day (5 May) as the Chief Guest switched on illuminations and inaugurated the SFHQ-C 'Vesak' Zone in front of the HQ premises. Several Senior Officers including the Brigadier General Staff at SFHQ-C were present during the inaugural occasion.

Typical of this season, the SFHQ-C afterwards began its ‘Roti Dansela’ (free distribution of flat bread) as one more segment of the Vesak zone. More than 1500 'Vesak' sight-seers and civilians flocked there to enjoy the hospitality of the troops and see illuminations.
