11 Infantry Division troops of the Security Force HQ-Central organized a distribution of school accessories for needy children studying at Matalapitiya College in Matale on Monday (08) on a concept of Dr Ven. Handaganawe Wimaladamma Thero of Asgiriya Raja Maha Viharaya.
Under the guidance of Major General S.R.B Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the11 Infantry Division, the project was patronized by Mr Chanuka Wiyajayakoon, Managing Director of Golden Crown Hotel.
During the distribution, 119 students received packs of school accessories, each worth more than Rs. 8500.00.
GOC, 11 Infantry Division, together with Mr Chanuka Wijayakoon graced the occasion as chief guests. Several Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Principal with the tutorial staff and students took part in the event.
