11 Infantry Division troops bade farewell to the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General S.R.B Aluvihare RWP RSP USP ndu psc, in a formal ceremony on Sunday (June 04) at the 11 Infantry Division HQ premises in Pallekele, Kandy.
At first, 10 Gajaba Regiment troops saluted the outgoing GOC in a Guard Turnout at the entrance before he was accorded a Guard of Honour by 5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops. Then, the symbolical handing over of duties took place where he placed his signature for a document that relinquishes his duties as the GOC.
Adding memories to the day, he was invited to pose for a few group photographs before he was invited to warm the newly-built Corporals’ Club inside the compound. Finally, he interacted with the troops during an All-Rank tea before he left the location.
Major General S.R.B Aluvihare RWP RSP USP ndu psc has now taken over duties as the Adjutant General.
