Major General Champaka Ranasinghe, Commander Security Forces -Wanni made an official visit to the 62 Infantry Division in Galkulama, Padavi-Sripura on Tuesday (Jan 24) and was warmly welcomed by Major General Janaka Ranasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 62 Infantry Division.
The Wanni Commander was saluted in a drive pass Guard Turnout at the main entrance of the Division Headquarters. Afterwards, he addressed the troops, both Officers and Other Ranks of all Division Headquarters, Brigades and Battalions serving under the 62 Infantry Division by highlighting the importance of being a disciplined and an economically-sound soldier.
He symbolically marked his visit by planting a Mango sapling at the 62 Infantry Division premises, and then visited the firing range in the camp. Finally, he had a discussion with Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers of the 62 Infantry Division before he wound up the visit.
