Nine young officers having successfully completed their Young Officers' (YO) Course No. 11 at the Mechanized Infantry Training Center (MITC) received their certificates during an awarding ceremony, held at the MITC premises in Periyakadu on Saturday (07).
The event commenced after Colonel Nalin Prabath, Commandant, MITC welcomed the day’s Chief Guest, Brigadier Kavinda Balasuriya, the Commander of the Mechanized Infantry Brigade on his arrival at the premises.
During the ceremony, the Chief Guest addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of the course to develop potentials of young officers as future leaders in the Mechanized Infantry Regiment.
Captain T.A.N.S.B Thibbotumunuwa of the 4 Mechanized Infantry Regiment was awarded the first slot in order of merit.
The Chief Instructor at MITC, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks too attended the occasion.
