241 Infantry Brigade's Move Gets Cattle, Nutrients & Dry Rations to Deserving Uhana Civilians

Troops of the 241 Brigade of the 24 Division under command to the Security Force Headquarters- East with generosity extended by ‘Goodness Foundation’ through Ven Galigamuwe Gnanapradeepa Thero supported a multifaceted community-oriented project, through which dry rations, cattle, and nutrients to pregnant women were distributed among low-income group civilians in Uhana, Piyangala after inviting the beneficiaries to the Piyangala Aranya Senasanaya monastery ( temple) on 22 December 2022.

Accordingly, 50 dry ration packets were distributed among 50 low-income families, 50 nutrition packs with essential equipment given to 50 pregnant women and 14 cattle were given to 13 members in the farming community, resident in Uhana, Piyangala areas.

The total value of the donation stood at Rs 3 million and the project was coordinated by the 24 Infantry Division as per guidelines given by the overlooking 24 Division General Officer Comanding.

The Commander, Security Forces - East Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi provided guidance to the mammoth project., The overlooking General Officer Commanding - 24 Infantry Division and Commander 242 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Anurudda Solangaarachchi closely supervised the project. The Commander 241 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Danika Pathirathna and the Civil Affairs Officer of the 24 Infantry Division and troops of the 16 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard organized the donation of both dry ration packets and cattle.
