A workshop on ‘Organic Agriculture and Use of Bio Gas’ jointly presided by two Indian experts, Mr A. Gopal Raj, former Director of the Tamil Nadu Agriculture Board and Mr D. Kodei Selvam, Managing Director of Maharishi Education Trust was attended by 125 Senior Officers, Officers and Lady Officers belonging to Corps of Agriculture and Livestock at Security Force HQs, Infantry Divisions and Brigades, some of who joined via zoom technology on Monday (28).
It was held at Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regimental Centre auditorium at Panagoda under the guidance of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army and Major General Senarath Niwunhella, Major General Shiran Abeysekera, Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock and Director General Financial Management (DGFM) together with Brigadier Arosh Rajapaksha, Director, Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock.
During the workshop, all the attendees had the rare opportunity of sharing views with those Indian experts and sought clarifications for their concerns regarding agricultural sector.
Towards the end of the workshop Major General Shiran Abeysekera awarded tokens of appreciation to both lecturers.
