Pakistan High Commissioner Calls at 54 Division HQ

High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Sri Lanka Major General (Retired) Umar Farooq Burki, Hi (M) made a courtesy visit to the 54 Infantry Division HQ, located in Mannar on Thursday (24).

The Commander 543 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Chandika Harasgama, and Senior Officers on his arrival at the venue welcomed the High Commissioner on behalf of the General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry Division.

During the cordial interaction, both parties exchanged views on ongoing training modules, civil-military cooperation, social welfare projects, security concerns, development assistance, and reconciliation process.

Later on, Brigadier Chandika Harasgama presented a memento to Major General (Retired) Umar Farooq Burki, Hi (M), marking the occasion's significance. Prior to his exit, he left a few complimentary remarks in the visitors' book at the Division HQ.
