MLT Commander Makes Field Visits to His Units

Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe, Commander, Security Forces-Mullaittivu and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) with the intention of inspecting the soldiers’ well-being and receiving an update on practical administrative matters, conducted field visits to his under-command units during Nov 15 - 17.

Respective Commanding Officers, Lieutenant Colonel N. T. N Jayawardena of 8 SLA, Lieutenant Colonel K. G. M. P Gunathilaka of 11 SLA - RFT and Major A. A. S Amarathunga of 12 (V) SLA, serving general areas of Oddusudan, Talaimannar and Mannar welcomed him in succession.

Drive pass Guard Turnouts at each unit saluted him at the entrances and invited him to plant saplings symbolically to mark his visit. Later he was invited to pose for group photographs, followed by addresses to the troops. He also gifted a stock of dry ration packs to members of the civil staff, serving respective units.

The visits to 8 SLA, 11 SLA (RFT) and 12 (V) SLA camps ended with refreshments, attended by All Ranks.
