Major General Sujeeva Senarath Yapa, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna who assumed duties recently paid homage to the historic Nagadeepa Vihara on Friday (7) and received blessings from the chief Incumbent at the Nagadeepa Temple, Venerable Navadagala Padumakittithissa Thero.
The Jaffna Commander was accompanied by Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe, General Officer Commanding of the 51 Division, Brigadier General Staff of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna and a few Senior Officers of the SFHQ-J.
Meanwhile, on the same day (7), he paid a courtesy visit to the District Secretary for Jaffna and discussed important matters, related to COVID-19 control coordination, progress of the civil-military coordination, land releasing process and reconciliation in the Jaffna peninsula.
They also touched on subjects such as illegal logging, sand mining, drug trafficking, etc. The District Secretary appreciated Army efforts in return.
The General Officer Commanding of the 51 Division, Brigadier General Staff, Commander, 512 Brigade along with a few Senior Officers were associated with those visits.
