The 231 Brigade under the 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – East intending to coordinate with Agriculture and Agrarian officials, ready for production of organic fertilizer held an initial coordinating conference on the subject on Wednesday (5) at the District Secretariat Office in Batticaloa.
District Secretary for Batticaloa presided the conference where Additional District Secretary, Brigadier Dilupa Bandara, Commander 231 Brigade, Commanding Officers, Staff Officers of 231 Brigade and several other Agrarian and Agriculture officers attended. The meeting discussed measures and procedures related to the readiness of producing Organic Fertilizer for the incoming Yala season in the Batticaloa District.
After the conference, all attendees made a field tour and visited a couple of organic fertilizer producing sites in Sandiveli area.
