The 59 Division HQ in Nandikadal under the Security Force HQ Mullaittivu marked its 14th anniversary with low-profile arrangements during 27-30 November as per instructions of Major General G.D Sooriyabandara, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division.
On the anniversary day (01 December), a flag-hoisting and a troop address marked the day. Awarding of trophies to the winners of recent game competitions of Cricket, Badminton, Volley Ball, Foot Ball and cricket continued during the same period after taking group by group due to health concerns. An all rank lunch concluded the anniversary programmes.
Senior Officers, including Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers under the 59 Division took part in those anniversary events.
