The outgoing Defence Adviser at the British High Commission in Sri Lanka, Colonel David Alfred Ashman, together with his incoming counterpart, Colonel P.J Clayton this morning (09) paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva at the Army Headquarters.
The outgoing UK Defence Adviser acknowledged cordial working relations that were maintained during his tenure and expressed his gratitude to the Army Chief during the cordial meet at the Commander’s office.
At the same time, he introduced his incoming counterpart, Colonel P.J Clayton and requested he too be given the same support in future. General Shavendra Silva appreciated the outgoing Defence Adviser’s cooperation and understanding in relation to bilateral assignments.
Towards the culmination of the cordial meet, General Shavendra Silva awarded a special memento to the outgoing Officer of the High Commission and wished him good luck with his future endeavours.
