The ASL at Trinco Marks Army Day with Formalities

The Army School of Logistics (ASL) at Trincomalee celebrated the 72nd Army Anniversary and Army Day according to the given directions by the Army Headquarters by hoisting the Army Flag, reading of the special message of the Commander of the Army and addressing the course attendees at the ASL.

The Commandant of the Army School of Logistics, Brigadier J.A.R.S.K Jayasekara graced the occasion as the chief guest with Senior Instructors, Faculty Members, Permanent Staff, Student Officers, Course Attendees and all ranks took part in the parade.

15 Non Commissioned Officers trained at ASL were fortunate enough to be elevated to their next rank by adorning insignia at the ASL by the Commandant. Giving further significance and prominence to the 72nd Army Anniversary, the Commandant planted mango saplings in the premises with the staff.

As a special social event in parallel with the occasion, the ASL was able to give its devotional contribution to the renovation of the ancient Gokanna Rajamaha Viharaya, situated in the Trincomalee area, which has great historical and cultural value since the era of King Mahasen in the 3rd century.
