To Coincide with Army Day 52 Division Gifts School Books

To coincide with the Army day, troops of the 522 Brigade under the 52 Division of the Security Force HQ - Jaffna, together with 15 Gajaba Regiment troops gifted stationery packs for 45 students learning at Ven. Madihe Pannaseeha Sinhala and Hindu Mixed School in Puttur, Jaffna as one more community project of the 52 Division.

Ven. Madihe Pannaseeha Sinhala and Hindu Mixed School in Jaffna was established in 1967 under the patronage of Most Venerable Madihe Pannaseeha Maha Thera in order to create a learning platform for underprivileged students of Hindu and Sinhala children in Puttur and Jaffna areas.

Donors from Wariyapola area, Ven Wadugedara Sarananda Thero, Mr Manjula Darmasena, Mr Suresh Chandrapala from Supreme Garments, Biyagama and 98 batches of Musaeus College Past Pupils Association, Colombo sponsored these stationery packs containing all essentials, each worth of Rs.3500.00 in response to a request made by the Commander, 522 Brigade,

The ceremony was graced by the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku as the Chief Guest together with the General Officer Commanding, 52 Division, Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe.

The principal and teachers of Ven. Madihe Pannaseeha Sinhala and Hindu Mixed School, government officials and Army Officers were also present at the occasion.
