As part of the Wanni SFHQ's community development programme, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni, Major General Hemantha Bandara, vested a newly constructed house in a low income single parent family of Mrs J.M.S Jayalath and two children who are differently able and resides in the 19th Lane, Bogaswewa on 25 September 2021.
The project that coincides with the forthcoming commemoration of the 72nd Army Day programme was coordinated by Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri (Rtd), in consultation with the General Officer Commanding of the 56 Division and under the supervision of the 563 Brigade. 7 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops built the new house.
The main financial sponsors for the project were Mr Dammika Atygalle, Chairman, Lanka Automobile Association and the Director Board who also participated in the warming ceremony.
Representatives of the Director Board, Commander, 563 Brigade, Brigadier Panduka Perera, Lieutenant Colonel D.B.R.E.W.M.M.W.N.K Madugalla, Civil Affairs Officer, 56 Division, Lieutenant Colonel W.K.A.S Priyanthalal and Commanding Officer 7 SLSR Major M.A.J.M Perera. A limited number of invitees attended the house-warming ceremony adhering to COVID - 19 health protocols.
General Officer Commanding, 56 Division, Major General Laksiri Perera participated as the Chief Guest of this ceremony.
