Major General Priyantha Gamage on Friday (01) took over duties as the 29th Quarter Master General (QMG) at the Quarter Master General Branch at the Army Headquarters.
The newly-appointed QMG signed an official document to signify the acceptance of the new office amid religious observances.
He succeeds Major General Samantha Silva who was recently appointed as the Commander Security Forces -Central.
Senior Officers including Directors of Directorates under command to the QMG Branch, Staff Officers of the Branch, together with a few Other Ranks attended the occasion. Prior to this new appointment, he served as the Chief of Staff of the Office of Chief of Defence Staff (OCDS).
