Troops of the 12 Division under command to the Security Force HQ-Central, together with medical experts of the Army Hospital in Diyatalawa carried out vaccination programmes in Suriyawewa, Katuwana and Weeraketiya areas in Hambantota district on Saturday (4).
Major General Vikum Liyanage, Commander Security Forces - Central and Major General Prassanna Ranawaka, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division supervised the troops during this vaccination programmes together with Brigade commanders and commanding officers in those areas.
The Army, empowering the ongoing vaccination drive is now fully committed in several locations in the island, including mobile vaccination programmes on the directions of General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak as per instructions of HE the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
