On the eve of his relinquishment of duties as the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 65 Division, Major General Tikiri Dissanayaka undertook several courtesy visits prior to his retirement to under command Brigades and addressed the troops on 11 July 2021.
First, he visited the 652 Brigade and addressed the troops after a Guard Turn Out salute, presented by 10 SLLI troops greeted him at the entrance in accordance with military traditions.
Next, he visited the 651 Brigade and addressed the troops after reviewing the Guard Turn Out salute, presented by 19 SLLI troops. He was also invited to plant a Mango sapling in the Brigade premises as a token of memory.
Finally, the GOC visited the 653 Brigade and met troops at the lecture hall of the 24 Gajaba Regiment. All rank tea at all respective places brought the day's visits to culmination.
