Sri Lanka Army Boxers clinched Best Boxer Award in Men’s and Women’s categories in the annual Amateur Boxing Association (ABA) Men’s and Women’s Novices’ Championship Boxing Meet-2014, organized by Sri Lanka Amateur Boxing Association. It ended on Thursday (29) at the Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo.
Private K.G.C Padmasiri and Private W.M.D.D.K Weerabahu won Best Boxer awards respectively in the Men’s and Women’s category in the ABA Novices Boxing meet.
This Boxing meet was conducted for five days (May 25, 26, 27, 28, 29).
A total of 220 boxers from 17 boxing clubs including tri services and the Police fought for supremacy under 29 different weight categories.
Army boxers won 4 Gold Medals, 5 Silver Medals and 9 Bronze Medals in Men’s category and 1 Gold Medal and 3 Bronze Medals in Women’s category.
