Sponsorship and generosity offered to the security Force HQ-Mullaittivu by several philanthropists in order to support the ongoing ‘Thuru Mithuru Nawatarak’ project of the Army Chief, troops were able to distribute some 3800 coconut seedlings among low-income families in Oddusuddan areas on Tuesday (29).
General Officer Commanding 64 Division - Major General Manjula Karunarathne, together with the Commander 642 Brigade - Brigadier Rasika Perera joined the distribution project as part of the 64 Division’s community projects.
This programme was coordinated by the Civil Affairs Officer of the 642 Brigade - Lieutenant Colonel U.L.C Jayasena.
Mr. Dinesh Fernando, Managing Director of Grow Write Subtracts Pvt Ltd, Representatives from Tropico Lanka Pvt Ltd and Euro Subtracts Pvt Ltd sponsored the cost of those saplings.
