Brigadier Nilam Herath assumed duties as the 14th Commander of the Forward Maintenance Area - Kilinochchi (FMA-KLN) of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi during a simple ceremony on Tuesday (22) at Forward Maintenance Area Headquarters in Kilinochchi.
The new Commander of the FMA - KLN on arrival was welcomed by the staff at the FMA-KLN before he was ushered to the office. Afterwards, he placed his signature for an official document to signify the acceptance of his new office amidst blessings of ‘Seth Pirith’ chanted by Buddhist monks.
Brigadier Nilam Herath, prior to this new appointment served as Brigadier Logistics at Logistic Command HQ in Kosgama. He succeeded Major General Mahinda Jayawardena who has now been appointed as the General Officer Commanding of the 55 Division.
Senior officers at the FMA-KLN were there to extend their wishes to the newly-appointed Commander, FMA KLN.
