Following a tip-off received by the 66 Division’s Intelligence & Security Groups in combination with 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment troops recovered a stock 40 packets of Kerala cannabis, weighing more than 80 kg from the general area of Seethakudirruppu, Nallur in Kilinochchi on Friday (25).
A suspect with one Boat, one Bolero Cab and a can filled with Illicit liquor was arrested and handed over to the Kilinochchi Police station for further investigations along with the stock of cannabis.
Troops throwing their full weight behind the government's national project to rid the country of narcotics and drugs are currently engaged in the arrest of culprits and recover stocks of narcotics and drugs at the request of General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army & Head, NOCPCO.
