638 After Quarantining Leave QCs - NOCPCO

As of this morning (18), a total of 2,372 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were 5 foreigners and 6 Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 562 from Colombo District, 455 from Gampaha District, 234 from Kurunegala District and 1,110 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (18), a total of 233,063 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 133,721 were reported after the New Year.

By Thursday (18) morning (past 24 hours), 1,289 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. 51 deaths have been reported including 31 males and 20 females on 16 June 2021.

By Thursday (18) morning, 638 persons have left 22 QCs after completion of their quarantining process. As of this morning (18), 7,629 persons in 70 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (18) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
