99 Persons Leave Seven Quarantine Centres-NOCPCO

As of this morning (24), a total of 2,959 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 14 Sri Lankan expatriates and 2,945 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 554 from Colombo District, 391 from Gampaha District, 198 from Galle District and 1,802 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (24), a total of 164,200 persons, have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them 67,192 were reported after the New Year. 128,606 of them after recovery have left hospitals. The affected 32,804 are still under treatment in hospitals and Intermediate Care Centers.

By Monday (24) morning (past 24 hours), 1,612 recovered patients have left care centers. Five more deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours as per the release issued by Department of Information. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country as of this morning (24) remains at 1,210.

By Monday (24) morning, 99 persons have left from 7 QCs. As of this morning (24), 6,487 persons in 69 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (24) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged other than the isolated areas that have been lifted and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
