As of this morning (22), a total of 3,547 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 3 foreigners, 6 Sri Lankan expatriates and 3,538 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 800 from Colombo District, 617 from Gampaha and 297 from Kurunegala District and 1,824 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (22), a total of 158,332 persons, have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them 61,341 were reported after the New Year. 125,359 of them after recovery have left hospitals. The affected 31,841 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
By Saturday (22) morning (In the past 24 hours), 1,828 recovered patients have left care centers. 44 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains at 1,132 by this morning (22).
Movement restrictions have been enforced from 2300 hours on 21 May to 0400 hours on 25 May. Similarly, movement restriction will come into effect the same day (25) from 2300 hours until 0400 hours on 28 May.
By this morning (22) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged other than the isolated areas that have been lifted.
