23 Gajaba Regiment (GR) and 3 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops under command to the 122 Brigade of the 12 Division under the Security Force HQ – Central gave their helping hand to the Walasmulla Base Hospital authorities to erect a new treatment centre for COVID -19 in the premises in order to enhance the capacity for admission of infectees.
Troops of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES) took the lead in this regard and offered their technical and engineering expertise for the task.
Commander, Security Forces-Central, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division and 122 Brigade Commander closely coordinated the need and advised accordingly.
