Commander, Security Forces- Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera undertook an inspection visit to the Navatkuli Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) under Army improvisation on Wednesday (12) and inquired into its progress in the face of surging numbers of COVID-19 patients in the peninsula.
During the inspection visit, the Commander Security Forces Jaffna instructed troops to expedite the construction work as quickly as possible. He also commended the commitments and dedication of the troops.
Further, he closely inspected available resources at the location and evaluated availability of equipment at the proposed ICC to treat the patients in the event of any increase of COVID-19 patients in future. This ICC can accommodate 300 patients at any given time.
General Officer Commanding of the 52 Division, Brigadier General Staff, Commander 522 Brigade, Commander 523 Brigade, Staff Officers of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna and Commanding Officers of under command battalions, engaged in the project were also present.
