As of this morning (10), a total of 2672 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 13 Sri Lankan expatriates and 2659 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 755 from Colombo District, 323 from Gampaha District, 234 from Kalutara District, and 1347 others from different Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (10), a total of 90,637 persons, inclusive of the fish market and Minuwangoda cluster and 35,293 others have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. The affected rest of 29,230 after the New Year are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
By Monday (10) morning, 125,905 persons remain confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the country and 104,462 of them after recovery have left hospitals and care centers.
In the past 24 hours, 1365 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centers. 15 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains at 801 by this morning (10). As of this morning (10), 6,285 persons in 76 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.
By this morning (10) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged other than the isolated areas that have been lifted.
