Outgoing SF-West Commander Honoured

Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) on Monday (19) bade farewell to the outgoing Commander Security Forces - West, Major General Wasantha Abrew, Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Light Infantry during a formal military ceremony, held at the SFHQ-West premises.

After completion of more than a three decade of service to the Sri Lanka Army, the retiring Senior Officer on arrival at the SFHQ-West was greeted to a Guard Turnout salute.

After a while he was ushered to receive honours in the Guard of Honour parade, presented by SFHQ-West troops.

Afterwards, Major General Wasantha Abrew addressed the troops and civil staffers gathered at the location and thanked all of them for the immense contribution during his tenure as the SF Commander.

The brief ceremony culminated with an All Rank tea table plus a street line goodbye salute.

General Officers Commanding of the 14 & 61 Divisions, Brigade Commanders of under command Brigades, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks took part in the farewell ceremony.
