As of this morning (7), a total of 649 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them is one expatriate and all other 648 are from locally-identified affectees. Of those persons, 295 are from Colombo, 87 from Gampaha, 51 from Kalutara and others are from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 this morning (7), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster stands at 24,318. Meanwhile, 17,052 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients from both Minuwangoda (3,059) and fish market (21,259) clusters have been discharged from hospitals.
Up to yesterday (6), a total of 27,876 persons have been confirmed COVID-19 positive from all over the country, including the dead. 20,495 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,277 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centres.
In the past 24 hours by this morning (7), 370 persons recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. To-date, 140 COVID-19 positive deaths have been reported. Yesterday’s 03 deaths were from Maggona, Kahathuduwa and Kotte areas.
By this morning (7), the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 50 passengers and the flight UL 1264 from UAE with 52 passengers, have arrived in Colombo. Within today (7), the flight UL 102 from Maldives with 44 passengers and UL 607 from Pakistan with one person are expected to land here. They all were/were to be referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services upon their arrival after formalities at the airport.
As of this morning (7), 6,879 persons in 67 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (6), 14,125 PCR tests were carried out.Buy Kicks | Nike
