66 Division in Mega COVID-19 Awareness Project Gets Sponsor's Support

An awareness programme to prevent from COVID -19 was launched for the general public living in the entire Pooneryn area during 7-13 November 2020 on an initiative taken by the 66 Division HQ.

66 Division troops on the direction of the General Officer Commanding, 66 Division, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces- Kilinochchi, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda after putting up mega screens at public places through audio/video presentations educated the masses on best health practices and preventive measures.

A mobile LED screen and PA systems were also used to cover every remote village in the area giving opportunity to every villager to get the message across.

Nestlé Lanka Pvt Ltd as part of their CSR project sponsored the arrangement and gifted two packs of Maggie noodles to every participant. A few more than 13,000 noodles packs were confirmed distributed during this 6-day period making the needy people, more sensitive to the danger.

All activities of the program were conducted by adhering to the COVID -19 preventive health measures.
