Major General Jagath Rathnayake, Commander, Security Forces – Mullaittivu visited the 59 Division HQ and its under command formations respectively on Thursday (5).
The visiting Commander Security Forces-MLT was received by Brigadier Manoj Lamahewa, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 59 Division who afterwards briefed the visiting GOC on the operational deployment of troops in the 59 Division area.
After his visit to the 59 Division, he visited 591, 592 and 593 Brigades to be received by Commanders of respective Brigades, In addition, he visited 19 Gemunu Watch, 23 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 12 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 5 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, and 24 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in the area. During the visits, Commander Security Forces-MLT inspected accommodation billets and roadblock duties of the troops with special focus on their health security.
