Major General Chandana Marasinghe, Master General Ordnance at the Army Headquarters, in addition to his present duties, assumed the office of Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) on 14 October during a simple ceremony at the SLAOC Headquarters, Dombagoda.
On arrival at the SLAOC Headquarters, he was honoured in a Guard Turnout before he signed a formal document to symbolize the acceptance of his new responsibilities as the Colonel Commandant, SLAOC.
On his arrival at the Regimental HQ, Brigadier Jagath Gamage, Centre Commandant, SLAOC warmly welcomed him and conducted him to his office at the Regimental Headquarters. A brief religious ceremony invoked blessings on the new office. He also planted a sapling in the premises as a memory before he joined refreshments with All Ranks at the venue.
