Following sponsorship, provided by a private sponsor, 12 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and 24 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops of the 59 Division under the Security Force HQ-Mullaittivu came forward to prepare a new public location for driving license trials in the area since the need for such a ground was a long-felt need.
On 19 October, Major General Priyantha Perera, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division with the blessings of Major General Jagath Rathnayake, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu inaugurated the new trial ground and handed it over to the local authorities.
Sponsorship for its necessary constructions was provided by the Avalon Holiday Resort Private Limited in Mullaittivu. Troops using machinery within a few days completed the project and made it ready for use. A brief ceremony adhering to health guidelines marked the event.
