Two Locals & Five Expatriates Confirmed Positive to COVID-19 - NOCPCO

As of this morning (5), 7 persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19. Among them, 2 persons were locally identified from Minuwagoda and 05 others were those who arrived from overseas. Those expatriates are from Dubai (02) at Mulankawil QC, one (1) seafarer from UAE at hotel Ozo, one (1) seafarer from Ukraine at Birjaya Hotel QC and one (1) expatriate from Saudi Arabia at hotel Jetwing, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (5), the total number of detainees in quarantine at Kandakadu and Senapura Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres for Drug Addicts stands at 650.

The flight QR668 from Doha, Qatar with 142 passengers, the flight 6E 9035 from India with 27 passengers and the flight UL 455 from Narita, Japan with 280 passengers have arrived in Colombo. All of those passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (5), 35 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 16 persons are from Rajagiriya QC, 01 from Biyagama Lagoon QC and 18 from Negombo at Camlet Beach QC.

Likewise, 48,583 individuals by this morning (5) have been sent back home after quarantining. As of this morning (5), 6894 persons in 72 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (1), 1490 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 295,463.

By 6.00 this morning (5), 4 fully recovered COVID-19 affected persons went back to their homes from hospitals. All of them are expatriates. The total number of fully-recovered detainees in quarantine at Kandakadu and Senapura Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres for Drug Addicts stands at 648.
