As of this morning (05), 04 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 epidemic. Those 04 expatriates included 2 from India in quarantine at Dambulla Green Paradise Hotel QC, 01 from the Philippines in quarantine at Uswetakeiyyawa Sea Shine Hotel QC and 01 from Israel in quarantine at Kahagolle QC, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 am this morning (05), the total number of detainees at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts stands at 639. Of them, 518 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.
The flight EY 264 from Abu Dhabi with 11 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 24 passengers and the flight UL 1026 from Chennai with 08 passengers arrived in Colombo and the flight CG 755 and the flight 779 from India will arrive today (5) in Colombo and all of them are expected to be referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.
Within the day (05), 485 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. of them, 03 persons are from Ruwala, Kalpitiya QC, 164 persons from Air Force QC at Puwarasakulam, 77 persons from Mullaittivu Air Force QC, 85 persons from Anuradhapura Lakeside Hotel QC, 145 persons from Norochcholai QC and 11 persons from Panichchankerni QC.
Likewise, 36, 497 individuals by this morning (05) have been sent back home after quarantining. 8,330 persons in 74 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (04), 1910 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 235,221.
Meanwhile, 18 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (05). All of them were expatriates underwent quarantining and found positive afterwards. Accordingly, 626 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery. A total of 13 infected persons, connected to the Rehabilitation Centre are still under treatment.
