New Colonel of the Regiment, SLLI Familiarizes with SLLI Battalions

The recently-appointed Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Major General Jayanath Jayaweera made his official visit to the 1 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry at Panagoda on Sunday (16).

Colonel of the Regiment was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality at the entrance and was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel E. M. W Bandara on his arrival there.

Afterwards, the Commanding Officer briefed the visitor on administrative matters, related to the 1 SLLI. Finally, Colonel of the Regiment addressed the troops and placed his vision for the future.

Prior to his exit, he left compliments in the visitors’ book and shared a few views with All Ranks. Brigadier Manada Yahampath, Commander, 582 Brigade, Brigadier Anura Dissanayake, Center Commandant, Officers and other ranks participated in the occasion.

Meanwhile, he visited RHQ Battalion at Boossa on Monady (17). The day’s Chief Guest was greeted to a Guard Turnout at the entrance to the premises soon after his arrival in accordance with military traditions. Afterwards, Colonel of the Regiment planted a sapling to mark his visit. Subsequently, Colonel of the Regiment addressed the troops and had a close look at the library and sleeping bed project also.

During his visit, he offered a financial assistance from the Regiment for medical treatment of the spouse of a senior Officer in the SLLI.

Meanwhile, the Colonel of the Regiment SLLI called at all battalions, deployed under the Security Force Headquarters-West on Monday (24).

Col of the Regt accordingly visited 2 (V) SLLI, 8 SLLI battalions and addressed troops at their respective Battalion Headquarters during the visit. The day’s Chief Guest was greeted to a Guard Turnout at the entrance to the premises soon after his arrival in accordance with military traditions by respective Commanding Officers.

The aim of those visits was to supervise all administrative matters of the Battalions and seek possibilities to uplift well-being of Officers and Other ranks. latest Nike release | Nike
