Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), Major General Rasika Fernado who recently took over office of the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army was felicitated when he made his formal maiden visit to the SLNG Regimental Headquarters on Saturday (13) upon assumption of the new office.
On arrival at the main entrance, he was warmly welcomed by Brigadier K.M Thilakarathna, Centre Commandant at SLNG Regimental HQ, together with Council members, Commanding Officers and several other Senior Officers. The day’s Chief Guest was greeted to a Guard Turnout at the entrance to the premises soon after his arrival in accordance with military traditions.
The day’s formalities at the SLNG Headquarters added more significance as the visiting DCOS was invited to plant a Naa sapling as a gesture of memory. He also took time off to mingle with a cross section of the gathering while sharing a couple of thoughts with them and receiving best wishes.
