To be in line with the ongoing “Thuru Mithuru-Nawa Ratak” cultivation and beautification project of the Commander of the Army, the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) at Diyatalawa launched the “Greening ARTRAC” project on Saturday (16) with the intention of turning the ARTRAC premises a heaven of greenery.
ARTRAC troops during the project planted 500 rare species of herbs and saplings, including Pongame oil tree, Malabar plum, Sweet acacia, Arjun, Jack and other varieties.
Major General Suraj Bangsajayah, Director-General General Staff, Commander, ARTRAC and Colonel of the Regiment, Gemunu Watch (GW) inaugurated the project by planting a Mango sapling at the beginning.
