Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps visited the 5 Reconnaissance Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) on Wednesday (13).
During this visit he addressed the troops and joined the sapling planting and an all rank tea table. The occasion was joined by the Commanding Officer, all Officers and Other Ranks of the 5 Reconnaissance SLAC Regiment while adhering to stipulated Covid-19 health safety regulations.
During his troop address, he emphasized on the responsibilities thrust upon the troops in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country and highlighted the need for a human in uniform to offer the maximum support to their fellow-workmates in the accomplishment of national duties for the country. He also paid a special tribute to 5 Reconnaissance SLAC Regiment who had sacrificed their lives for the betterment of the nation.
Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage on the same occasion made a symbolic gift of a special go-cart to a daughter with special needs of an Other Ranker of the Corps of Engineer Service (CES) Regiment who has made a dedicated contribution to the growth of the 5 Reconnaissance SLAC Regiment for more than 9 years. buy footwear | Nike
